Our story

My journey began in 2021. During the previous year, my husband, Rich and I had to slow down our daily routines of always being on the go. Partly due to the virus, but also due to Rich’s declining kidney health. He had inherited PKD and we knew his need for a new kidney was quickly approaching. During this “slow down” we spent more time noticing the little things life has to offer and how as people we move so quickly through life that we forget to take in the little moments of happiness.

In May of 2021 I donated a kidney to Rich. During our recovery at home, we would reflect on the different “smells” of spring coming through our windows and they would immediately having us recalling different memories. Clean clothes on the line, a freshly mowed lawn, flower gardens, home grown tomatoes, treats from the kitchen… The list was endless!

Each of these scents brought back so many remember when’s for us that I just knew I couldn’t let that escape us again. I began researching and testing, and testing some more until I got my products just the way I wanted. Strong, but not overpowering, just enough to trigger the memory box open.

Now, I’m ready to share the “scented memories” experience with all of you through Farmwicks Candle Co.
